About the Role

The Senior Environmental Technician supports environmental protection and compliance efforts by collecting samples, conducting inspections, and assisting in site operations. The role involves working in various settings, including laboratories, field sites, and industrial locations, to ensure that environmental standards are met and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Collaboration
  • Participate in health and safety initiatives, daily and monthly meetings and required reporting.

  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed at all times.

  • Collaborate with the STLLR team and contractors to ensure that the programs and project are properly planned, executed and documented in order to be on time and on budget.

  • This position may involve exposure to hazardous materials or conditions. Employees are required to follow all established safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices; Personal Protective Equipment will be provided to the employee for all such tasks.

Technical
  • Conduct in-situ field tests to measure and document environmental parameters.

  • Follow standardized procedures to collect environmental samples (e.g., surface water, groundwater, air, soil, etc.), complete sample documentation, and submit samples for laboratory analysis.

  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain field and laboratory equipment.

  • Maintain equipment logs to ensure adequate supplies are available for field programs.

  • Record and analyze test results using computer software and databases in an accurate and well-organized manner.

  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of findings for review by senior staff and/or regulatory agencies.

  • Understand permits, regulations, and company policies, and associated compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Complete quality assurance/ quality control checks on field and laboratory data.

  • Assist in the preparation of environmental documentation, records, and reports.

  • Review analytical results promptly and immediately report any potential compliance issues to management.

  • Perform environmental site inspections to identify potential environmental risks and correct deficiencies.

  • Support with development, review, and implementation of training documents.

  • Assist in environmental emergency response, including remediation efforts.

  • Working in various environments, including outdoor field sites in all seasons, industrial facilities, and laboratories.

  • May involve exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.

  • Physical activities such as lifting, climbing, and walking over rough terrain may be required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites

Education, Training & Experience
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as environmental technology, environmental science, natural resources, or similar.

  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in environmental testing, sampling, and/or compliance monitoring and reporting, preferably in mining.

  • Training and experience in trailering and operating all-terrain vehicles and watercraft (e.g., snowmobiles, side-by-sides, Argos, boat, motor).

  • A valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • An understanding of permitting process.

  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to learn and to be a team player.

  • Experience planning and executing field programs.

  • Familiarity with GPS, InReach, field maps, and related software.

  • Current legal authorization to work in Canada.

Project Geologist (Geochemistry)

STLLR Gold is a dynamic mineral exploration company focused on discovery, and developing the Tower Gold Project and Hollinger Tailings Project in the Timmins area. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Project Geologist who can provide geochemical expertise to our multi-disciplinary exploration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing geochemical programs in support of early- to advanced-stage mineral exploration projects, and developing discrete geochemical models for the various deposits. This role involves significant fieldwork, data interpretation, and integration of geochemistry into target generation and evaluation. The position will report to the Principal Geologist and will support a collaborative and multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geochemistry, and will be able to apply modern geochemical techniques in diverse geological settings, contributing directly to discovery-focused exploration efforts. *Schedule: The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis which will be determined based on their proximity to the work site. Approximately 20 days per month will be required on site during active programs, with regular 40-hour work weeks (remote) during non-active periods.
