About the Role
STLLR Gold is a dynamic mineral exploration company focused on discovery and development of the Tower Gold Project and Hollinger Tailings Project in the Timmins area. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Project Geologist to join our exploration team. The successful candidate will support the implementation of exploration programs designed to identify and test geological targets with the goal of developing mineral resources.
The position will report to the Exploration Manager, and will be responsible for the day-to- day operations of approved exploration programs, ensuring all work is conducted to industry best practices. This includes managing data collection, interpretation, and the advancement of exploration targets into economic mineral resource estimates. The role requires experience in successful exploration programs, particularly in gold, and involves direct supervision of exploration crews, contractors, and consultants while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
*Schedule: The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis which will be determined based on their proximity to the work site. Approximately 20 days per month will be required on site during active programs, with regular 40-hour work weeks (remote) during non-active periods. Additional travel may be required for conferences or meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Collaboration
- Ensure personal and team adherence to health, safety and environmental standards, including those who work under their supervision. 
- Participate in health and safety initiatives, daily and monthly meetings and required reporting 
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration within the exploration team and across other departments. 
- Motivate and maintain a high level of enthusiasm within the exploration group for the project and the company’s success. 
- Represent the company in a professional manner. 
Technical
- Ensure that the exploration program is properly executed and documented, while managing contractor performance, to meet quality, cost and productivity objectives. 
- Oversee the best practice techniques in the collection, documentation and interpretation of geological, geochemical and geophysical data. 
- Supervise core logging, cutting facilities, and data collection processes. 
- Implement and manage the collection of data and logging core as required to maintain the required technical and production levels for the timely completion of resource drill programs. 
- Apply technical expertise and experience to address specific technical/geological aspects of the program. 
- Play an active role, supervising, planning, organizing and controlling various technical and operational aspects of the program. 
- Ensure strict adherence to all company QA/QC protocols and procedures to best industry practices. 
- Manage data quality, compilation, interpretation and estimation methodologies. 
- Continually evaluate and review new technologies and techniques as well as methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the exploration programs. 
- Identify and engage with external consultants, associations and experts who could add value to the company assets through targeted studies and reviews. 
- Ability to write or contribute on the writing of regulatory reports that are public facing and authorities as necessary. 
- Follow and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures of the Company. 
- Other duties may be assigned as required. 
Prerequisites
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences or related discipline required; A Master’s degree is considered beneficial. 
- Minimum five years’ experience of which at least three years are in an exploration setting. 
- Registration as a Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo.), or ability to register, is required. 
- A valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driving record. 
- First Aid, WHMIS, and other relevant safety certifications preferred.
